Empty Nest Syndrome

…what is empty nest syndrome?

Empty nest syndrome is a common experience of grief that occurs when your children move out of the family home. It is a significant milestone that can leave you feeling like your most important job has ended. For all your uncertainty about the future, this transition is a beautiful opportunity for growth and self-discovery.

What’s now?

You may be thinking “what’s next?” I have decades ahead of me and don’t know what to do with my time now. What am I going to do? Well, I’ve got news for you - that “what now” feeling isn’t something to be scared about. In fact, it’s a call to think big, pull on your boots and search for the horizon for a formidable peak then start climbing.

Now is the time to ask yourself - what’s the next big thing I want to commit to? What will this worthy goal be? And what’s the roadmap for achieving it. You may find yourself asking questions like who am I now? What am I doing? What does my identity stand for if it’s no longer tied to this?

These are big soul searching questions that can feel overwhelming at first, but lean into them and use them to figure out more about who you are, and what you value and chart a direction toward your worthy goal. Let me help you find your new purpose and enjoy a new way forward! I look forward to working with you, give it a try be brave!
